Fort Calgary - Take a step back in time at Fort Calgary. This fort pays tribute to the brightly clad Canadian Mounties that brought peace and civilization to the frontier. The fort includes reconstructed buildings and displays of artifacts along with demonstrations of skills long since forgotten. Fort Calgary takes on a surreal look when viewed with the modern skyline of the city of Calgary in the background. Other historic attractions include the Heritage Park Historical Village with hundreds of displays regarding historic transportation methods.
Calgary Stampede, Canada
Calgary Stampede - One of the biggest attractions to the area each summer is the Calgary Stampede. The stampede features nine days of western fun including rodeos, concerts fireworks and other events. They refer to the stampede as “The Greatest Outdoor Sow on Earth” and lives up to the hype. The event is held in early July each year.
